Chiropractice involves the manipulation of spine (or sometimes other elements of the skeleton) to fix various ailements. As with many alternative practices, chiropractic does not have a single widely accepted belief system and is 131:generally very vague. The more extreme believers in the practice believe it to involve the realignment of a some kind ofenergy or life force. The misalignment of this energy supposedly causes every illness we could ever have (in denial of everything we know of genetic factors, nutrition, and germ theory). The more benign practitioners provide little more than an expensive and enthusiastic massage.
